Country Road Group Head Office

Head Office Fitout, 658 Church St, Richmond
Plan Group were engaged to complete a staged fit out of 3500m2 to consolidate Country Road, Mimco, Trenary and Witchery into one location. Works included new fits out to two levels as well as churning of existing heritage overlayed space. The project was undertaken over 5 stages with staff moves coordinated within each stage. Each stage was completed adjacent occupied and operational office areas. Plan Group managed the overall churn and construction programme in close consultation with the client.

Monash College 222 Bourke Street

Office Fit out Level 4, 222 Bourke Street, Melbourne
Plan Group completed a complete office fit out from a vacant shell, for Monash College. Works included high level acoustically separated class-rooms, large lunchroom spaces as well as smaller staff retreats, quiet study areas and common collaborative spaces. The build was undertaken with adjoining operating tenants below and adjacent.

Bank Mecu - Eastland

Eastland Retail Branch
After the success on the Fitzroy store, Plan Group was engaged by Bank MECU on a Construction Management engagement for the fast tracked fitout of their Eastland store. The Eastland project was driven by the large upgrade of QIC’s Eastland shopping centre. Bank MECU’s existing branch was identified for demolition after the Christmas shutdown and the new store need to be up and running prior to trades going on break. The project involved a shop front change over including integrated digital signage, timber and Aluca-Bond cladding as well as the full fitout of the retail space from cold shell. The project was put out to market for pricing, trades engaged and build completed within 5 weeks leading up to the 2014 Christmas shutdown.

Western Health - Sunshine Hospital Childrens Ward

Sunshine Hospital Children’s Ward Refurbishment
Plan Group were appointed this fixed lump sum refurbishment of the existing Sunshine Hospital Children’s ward by Western Health. The ward was decanted to allow the works to be undertaken. Project scope included demolition of the existing facility, installation of external wall and roof structure over an existing external courtyard to provide extra floor space, new joinery, vinyl, medical gas additions and modifications, additions to the nurse-call system, new ceilings and all associated services to suit an upgraded layout. An isolation room was installed complete with necessary mechanical plant and controls. Also a new family room and quiet room, funded by Ronald McDonald House, were constructed. The project was delivered within a live hospital environment operating adjacent and below the construction site.

Eastern Health - Wantirna Hospital Education Precinct

Wantirna Education Precinct
The Watirna Education Precinct was a joint initiative between Deakin University and Eastern Health. Plan Group was engaged on a Design and Construct contract to extend the existing hospital by 500m2 and provide additional administration and conference spaces as well as kitchen, toilets and breakout areas adjoining the hospitals existing clinical teaching spaces. The project required a customised solution utilising the latest technology in modular construction. Plan Group managed the design and construct project within the tight build schedule of 12 weeks.

Level 26, 101 Collins Street
Plan Group were engaged by BlackRock Investments for the demolition of the existing tenancy and the fit-out of a new highly specified office in accordance with company’s international design standard. The project included a high quality reception and client space, high levels of acoustic separation and installation of a detailed computer room. Works were completed within an 8 week construction programme.

Yarra Trams

Multiple Depot Upgrades
This project for Yarra Trams involved the upgrade of the maintenance offices at 5 No. Yarra Trams depots. Works were to be fast tracked with multiple sites running at the same time. The maintenance facilities were located in heritage listed buildings which were occupied during the works. The management of safety requirements on site was a key focus due to the proximity of workers to moving trams.

Office Fitout 136 Atlantic Drive, Keysborough
Symbion Health engaged Plan Group for their two level 1500m2 fit-out in a newly completed base building. Works included new offices, joinery, feature reception areas, associated services, workstations and furniture. Services and furniture/workstation trades were contracted directly to the client and managed by Plan Group. Works completed in parallel to factory automation fit-out in a 6 week duration.

Office Fitout.
The office fitout in Melbourne’s CBD was delivered on a Design and Construct basis on a fast track delivery. There were a number of client driven long lead time items which had to be installed after their move. The fit out involved extensive wall panelling, feature ceilings and high end furniture selection.

J. Walter Thompson

Office Fitout
Plan Group were engaged as the Construction Manager on the JWT fit out project. The project was the conversion of an empty warehouse space, which had no incoming services, converting the space into a new activity based workplace. Collaborative spaces, meeting rooms and flexible desking solutions were key aspects of the design. Plan Group was involved in the design of the services which included completely new mechanical plant and incoming electrical services. The second stage of the project was the construction of a new access stair, for which Plan Group were engaged to managed the structural design.

Lowitja

New Office Facilities
Plan Group was engaged to complete the new office facilities for the Lowitja Institute – a not for profit organisation who is Australia’s national institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research. The works included new offices, meeting spaces, board-room, kitchen and breakout spaces comprising polished concrete floors and various recycled and raw timber elements. The project was completed in a newly refurbished building under a fixed lump sum engagement in Carlton Victoria.

Retail Fitout - Chapel Street, South Yarra
The Chapel Street store is the second project Plan Group has completed for A-Esque and involved the demolition of an existing retail space and fit out of a high-end retail store. The services works were completed on a Design and Construct basis. As part of this project Plan Group was engaged to complete the make good works of the existing A-Esque location.

Melbourne Airport - ALER 4 Building

ALER 4 Building
This project was delivered under a lump sum contract and involved the construction of the new ALER 4 building at Melbourne Airport. The ALER 4 building is responsible for controlling the airport taxiway lighting system. The building has a significant amount of technical requirements, including new generators, fuel tanks, gas suppression system, new HV Kiosk and a lightning protection system.

Forever New Head Office

Head Office Fitout
Plan Group was engaged by Forever New on a Construction Management engagement to complete the consolidation of six of their head office sites into the one new facility within the Botanica Building estate in Richmond. The 3800m2 fitout was to be completed on a fast tracked programme to align with the sale of the clients old premises. Plan Group managed the budget, programming and construction of the new facility working collaboratively with the clients design team. The high quality fitout included large breakout spaces, a large pattern/sewing room, range rooms, meeting rooms and reception space as well as video conference and training rooms. The project was staged to bring early completion of the client’s new comms and satellitecomms room online two weeks before the final handover to ensure a smooth transition into the new office.

St Vincent De Paul Head Office

Head Office Refurbishment
Plan Group was engaged under a Construction Management model to undertake refurbishment of St Vincent’s head office in Box Hill. The project involved the completion of design in conjunction with the client and design team, open market tender, recommendation then construction. New offices were built, rooms repurposed, workstations and joinery reconfigured or constructed and the whole facility painted. The project was completed with all offices workers in occupation, in a staged churn manner.

Base Building Upgrade
This project involved a back to base building upgrade of two tenancy areas on Level 4, 437 St Kilda Road. Limited drawings were available so scopes had to be confirmed with trades during pricing, agreed with the landlord and accepted by the building surveyor. Plan Group was responsible for coordinating the building surveyor services and ensuring compliance.

Office Modifications and Fitout
To assist with Canaccord’s additional space requirements to suit their plans for expansion, Plan Group completed office modifications and fitout. Works were completed out of hours as the client was in occupation. Plan Group was responsible for the coordination of the building permit, and services works were completed on a Design and Construct basis. Particular care was taken to ensure details and finishes matched the existing high end fit out.

Radio Sports National

Office Refurbishment
Plan Group were engaged as Managing Contractor to carry out RSN’s office refurbishment. The demolition of existing tenancy and fit out of new office space was completed in stages with the clients in occupation and live radio studio's. The radio station was on air 24 hours a day, so the management and coordination of works was critical so as to not disrupt the "on air" team. The project was delivered on a Plan Group managed design and construct basis with a GMP budget set. Trades were tendered and procured on an open book basis with contract sums fixed on client acceptance of recommended packages.

St John of God - Day Oncology

Berwick Private Hospital - Day Oncology
In 2013 Plan Group was engaged by St John of God Healthcare to provide Lump Sum construction services for the refurbishment of the Berwick Private Hospital. The project was delivered in an occupied environment around the hospital’s ward areas was completed over three stages: Stage 1 involved the conversion of some existing storage, toilet and change room areas into a new hospital Cafe. Stage 2 involved converting the vacated cafe area into a new Chapel for the hospital including the expansion of the internal footprint to increase the capacity of the new chapel space. The final stage of the project turned the original chapel area, adjacent ward and administration spaces into a new Day Oncology wing. The space included the day oncology ward, treatment, medications and interview spaces. Expansion of the hospital’s medical gases and nurse call system were completed as part of the works.

630 Church Street Façade Upgrade
Property consortium, Blondel, engaged Plan Group to Design and construct the new façade cladding to an existing building on Church Street in Richmond. Plan Group was engaged to coordinate with the local council to obtain planning approval and then building approval. The installation required detailed traffic management to allow works adjacent pedestrians, car parks and Church Street traffic as well as coordination and approvals from Citipower and Yarra Trams.

Austin Hospital - Quality Control Laboratroy

Quality Control Laboratory
Plan Group was engaged on a lump sum contract to fitout an existing hospital space into a new QC laboratory. After the tender process, Plan Group worked with the client and design team to value engineer the job to suit the Austin’s budget constraints. Once the revised construction sum was agreed, the laboratory fitout was completed on time and budget within a single build stage. The new laboratory space included fume and biological safety cupboards, medical gases including Methane and Helium as well as compressed air and suction.

Geelong Station

Lift Upgrade
The Geelong Station project was an upgrade of the access requirements for the train station. The works included two new lift shafts, a bridge over the train tracks, connection of the three platforms and two new disabled toilets. Coordination of the works was critical as there were requirements to close train tracks and work within train schedules. Access to the work areas was challenging with the requirement of various access equipment including cranes, boom lifts, scissor lifts and scaffolding.

Williamstown Hospital Rehabilitation Gym Extension
Western Health appointed Plan Group for this fixed lump sum extension and refurbishment of the existing rehabilitation gym of Williamstown Hospital. Works included the demolition of the existing facility, installation of new slab on ground, brick veneer walls, timber roof structure and new roofing. The fit-out included a new open rehabilitation area, consulting rooms and staff meeting room. The project was conducted adjacent working wards and the hospital’s main entrance.

Austin Hospital - PET Scanner

PET Scanner
Plan Group was engaged by Austin Health to complete the fitoutof their new PET Scanner room.The project involved the installation of significant structural reinforcements to the sub-basement of the building to support the weight of the new scanner including new pad footings. The project also included the fitout of the hospital’s new Metabolite Laboratory and connections through to existing Scanner control spaces. The Scanner room itself was constructed out of 2 layers of brick walls while all windows and doors were lead lined.This form of heavy construction was completed adjacent to the hospitals other existing scanners and the works were completed with no closure of the hospitals services.
